If you like intelligent chick-lit with a handsome lead character called Dylan (and who wouldn’t), then I’m happy to tell you that Occasional Soulmates by Kevin Brennan is free to download this weekend.
I had the pleasure of reading Yesterday Road by Kevin last year and loved it so much it became one of my books of the past year, and I’ve heard nothing but good things of Occasional Soulmates.
And now it’s free!
So what have you got to lose? Download the book, read it, and if you enjoy it don’t forget to write a review.
Book description
When the thirty-eight-year-old San Francisco doctor meets her new patient, a handsome British expat with the unlikely name of Dylan Cakebread (and an uncanny resemblance to Jude Law), she’s convinced it’s the start of her own relationship novel. He’s an architect, no less — always a key piece of her most indulgent fantasies — and the heroine of a relationship novel always gets her fantasy man, right? Though their shaky start raises red flags that her oldest girlfriend, Jules, is quick to point out, Sarah can’t help it. She falls hard for Dylan and it appears to be a two-way street.
But maybe meeting your perfect mate in the exam room isn’t the best opening act. Sarah thinks she’s the cure for what ails him, but soon she learns the secret Dylan has been keeping from her. Now she has to choose between happiness and the illusion of it — if Dylan doesn’t take the choice out of her hands first.
It’s starting to look like this isn’t her relationship novel at all: it’s his.

Dylan, you rock!
You were asleep and it had already started, so it was the least I could do
I tried to stay up late but… 💤
This has prompted me, as Occasional Soulmates has been on my ‘to read’ list for a while now. I’m in the middle of thoroughly enjoying Yesterday Road at the moment, a great read which I picked up based on your recommendation.
I loved Yesterday Road. It has such warmth, a joy to read.
I read this book and enjoyed it. I also have “Yesterday Road” on my Kindle, but as I’m sure you know, getting to all those books is an Olympic sport all unto itself. Sigh.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I loved Yesterday Road so hopefully you will too, once you get a chance to read it…
